“negotiate your own writing goals and audience expectations regarding conventions of genre, medium, and rhetorical situation”

In this course, there were many instances in which we would have to consider the goals we have for our writing and audience expectations, and connect them to the conventions of genre, medium, and rhetorical situation. For each of our assignments came different genres: a memo, a technical description, a lab report, and a technical proposal. For each of these genres, we had to take into consideration the audience, which is very important to how we would be structuring our writing.

These factors have been made very important in this class, and truly have helped in writing effective papers that would target the audiences.
